Frequently Asked Questions

My device data stopped syncing. What should I do?

Go to “Connect Sources” page (click on the “chain link” icon in the top right). Try disconnecting the source that stopped syncing and connecting it again. If that does not work, try “Disconnect All” → “Disconnect” and connect the sources again.

My Apple Watch data is not syncing. What should I do?

This is likely due to your Apple Watch device having a custom name. We currently require that your device name includes “Apple Watch” (not case sensitive). For example, “Tunum Watch” will NOT sync correctly, whereas “Tunum Apple Watch” will. You can check/change it by going to the Watch iOS app on your iPhone, General → About → Name. After you rename the device, please make sure to restart your iPhone so that the device name change propagates to the iOS Health app.

My Apple Watch data is taking a long time to sync. What should I do?

Apple Watch data syncs in 5-10 minutes or faster for most users. If your sync is taking longer than that, try the following:

  1. Disable low power mode

  2. If that does not help, restart the device (and disable low power mode after)

If you’re still having trouble with Apple Watch data sync, please contact us!

My Garmin data is not syncing. What should I do?

  1. Make sure that you have “Garmin Connect” app installed on your phone. Be sure to enable the “Background app refresh” setting in the settings so that Garmin can sync your data in the background (NOTE: background app refresh does not work in low power mode)

  2. If that does not help, you need to manually open and sync the data in the Garmin Connect app

  3. If that does not help, go to “Connect Sources” page in Tunum app (click on the “chain link” icon in the top right). Try disconnecting Garmin and connecting it again. If that does not work, try “Disconnect All” → “Disconnect” and connect Garmin again
